Vintage David Crystal Barbara Barondess Chinoiserie Print Red Quilted Circle Skirt
This vintage David Crystal, Barbara Barondess Chinoiserie print red quilted circle skirt dates from the 1950s. It is made of a red satin damask weave brocade fabric with a colorful woven Chinoiserie Orientalism novelty print design with Asian village figural scenes, boats, pagoda shrine temples, trees and flowers covering the entire skirt. This fabulous full circle skirt has a fitted waistband with decorative quilted stitching, side slit pockets, a side zipper closure and is fully lined in a purple rayon fabric. There is a "designed for David Crystal by Barbara Barondess Mac Lean" label and a "A.J. Izod Ltd. London, W.I. By Appointment American Reproduction by David Crystal" label sewn inside. The skirt measures 31 inches long, with a 25 inch waist and 84 inch hips. It is in excellent condition. This is truly a wonderful piece of Chinoiserie textile wearable art!
