Kenzo came on the fashion scene in the 1970s when he became an established designer in France. He opened his own boutique in Passage Vivienne, and became
recognized for his signature exuberance of colors and daring mixtures. His inspirations were varied, and drew from different cultures and showcased an colorful flora and japanese influences.
This skirt is from this early period - the Kenzo Jap label was dropped in 1980, when his label became simply "Kenzo."
