    Description

    Confederate States: Roll of Union Prisoners at Richmond.
    17" x 22" partly-printed and manuscript document titled "Roll of Prisoners of War Paroled at Richmond". It lists 48 prisoners, all of whom were captured at Goldsboro, North Carolina March 23-24, 1863. They were released upon giving their word or "parole" that they would not rejoin the Union army or give out intelligence injurious to the Confederate States until formally exchanged.
