THE DESIGN, MEASURING 3inches in diameter, introduces a beginner to simple stumpwork techniques. It incorporates a bit of stumpwork, with raised, textured stitches and threads. This kit is suitable for a beginner to stumpwork who has some knowledge of crewel embroidery stitches.
The drizzle stitch is used for one sheep, a slip of French knots appliqued onto the background for the second, and a couched woolen thread for the third. Alternatively, the drizzle stitch can be used for all three sheep.
Both sheep styles are pictured. The designs can be done either way! Little wired horns complete the design.
Kit includes a square of green cotton with design screened onto cotton, backing calico or muslin, crewel needle, milliners needle, chenille needle, hand dyed cotton and silk threads, DMC stranded cottons, fine wool boucle, white florist wire for horns, fabric for slip, and a solid, English Mahogany wooden pincushion base prepared for your finished project.
