I have no reason to believe this rug to be older than the early 1900s, nor newer than 1940 (the advent of WW2) based on the tag and the sales price.
I regard this rug as being in
EXCELLENT CONDITION
When I hold it up to the light, I see no holes, but I do see some where the weaving has stretch a little at the edge of the diamond patterns - I do not see it on the floor or sofa back. but when the weight of the rug is all on one end, I see some "openings" from stretching develop - not damage.
I have taken high resolution photos and posted 9 of them with this listing – both sides.
please review them.
to me, I do not see it faded on one side or the other - it has been very, very well cared far and is truly in Excellent Condition.
